Hi, I'm Rick, a songwriter and music producer, husband, father and sponsored skateboarder. I love to write relatable folk music with country roots and a beachy vibe, usually centered around family, faith and pursuing a creative life, while trying to keep it all in balance.

My songs will make you feel good -- about yourself, others and the world around you. They will cause you to think about your role, wherever you're at, and also help you appreciate those closest to you.

I was born and raised in South Carolina, brought up on old country/western tunes from my grandfather, while also loving surfing and skateboarding, along with the punk/ska/reggae that came with it. The first song I ever wrote was for my high school punk band, and about a girl I liked from church holding hands with another boy at the county fair...tragic, I know. Still, it felt good to put feelings into words and music, combining experience, truth and comedy in the same song, and so I haven't stopped expressing myself this way since!

Yonder Breaks is my main project and where I write my most personal songs. You'll find tunes about my wife and kids, my faith, being a stay-at-home dad and struggling to keep up in the fast-paced world we live in, while also staying true to the values I was brought up on. I also produce music under other monikers, typically for film/tv/commercial projects (which is what I went to school for). My songs have been described as "easily the trailer for a heartfelt indie movie" (from the article linked to above), which makes me quite happy to hear!
